IT Systems Assistant
We are seeking a highly organised and technically skilled individual, with a strong understanding of IT systems and an ability to train and support technical and non-technical users.
Margaret Howell is a contemporary British clothing designer who has worked successfully in men’s and women’s clothing for over five decades. Today, Margaret Howell clothes are sold worldwide with 12 directly operated shops in Europe, over 70 outlets in Japan and an established online business.
We are seeking a highly organised and technically skilled individual with a strong understanding of IT systems to join our team as an IT Systems Assistant. This role involves providing hands-on support across company systems and applications, ensuring smooth integrations, and maintaining robust security standards. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop their expertise in IT operations, troubleshooting, and system administration within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Full-time - 35 hours, Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site IT support for all company systems and applications
- Support IT systems integrations
- Manage system maintenance and troubleshooting across our stores and offices
- Liaise with third-party IT support providers
- Assist with the development and testing of new applications and system upgrades
- Ordering and configuration of new PCs and other hardware/peripherals
- Asset Management for company IT equipment
- Ensure the security of company data and hardware
- Administration of company phone systems
- Provide hands-on IT training to support employees
- Create, modify, and maintain reports across key systems, e.g. SAP, Sales platforms
- General admin tasks e.g. billing, purchase orders, etc.
- Ensure industry best practice is adopted and maintained
Role Requirements
Essential
- Experience in IT and a comprehensive understanding of IT systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised and analytical with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to train and support technical and non-technical users
- Experience in IT support working with a company of 50+ users
- Experience supporting/using Microsoft Office 365/Teams
- Experience supporting/using SAP (Business One)
- Experience with MS SQL Server/SQL
- Understanding of network infrastructure such as Meraki firewalls, switches, VPNs
- Working knowledge of systems integration concepts
Desirable
- Advanced Excel knowledge including linked SQL queries and connections, pivot tables and data analysis
- Experience working with BPA for data transfer/integrations
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive
- Experience supporting/using BI Solutions e.g. Microsoft Power BI
- Crystal Reports
- Retail background, experience with POS, eCommerce and stock management systems
- SOAP APIs & XML
- Knowledge of Windows Server, VMs, Meraki firewalls, VPNs
- Familiarity with Apple MacOS
- Knowledge of ITIL & ITSM
- Experience in end-user training both one-to-one and in a structured group environment
